Lyrics
This is the crossing of words
This is the culmination of losses
This is the space in between
This is where it all begins

We were told that we are the writers of history, of our history
But who are the ones holding the pen inscribing our story
With voices made of diamond
We speak in common carbon
For the profit of some corporate nightmare machine
It’s high time to break your chains
Throw caution to the wind and reclaim
Some value for ourselves, before long
With a body wrought from stone
Heart of iron, a corroding ore
Choking on diamond, choking on diamond
Maybe I’m sick
Convince me your not
For how can medicine exist
In this space that love forgot
Where faceless trolls hold sway on world views in the evening news
And all we breathe is diamond
Stare down the barrel with nought to lose
Maybe someone will shout enough is enough
Enough is enough
Weigh anchor, while the ship is sinking
Maybe someone will shout enough is enough
Enough is Enough
Stare down the barrel with nought to lose
Maybe someone will shout enough is enough
Enough is enough
Stand stock still and watch it all come crumbling down
Maybe someone will shout enough is enough
Enough is enough
Enough is enough
Is enough.

[Outro - distorted radio chant]

Shots are fired
Hopes fade
Lips meet
at the borderlines

Shots are fired
Hopes fade
Lips meet
Through the borderlines

I wrote Diamond Breath as a warning and protest song.

I wanted to capture a tone which reflects on political tribulations of the past and poses a bleak outlook on the future. But there is hope.
The title Diamond Breath came from the idea that we as human beings breathe out carbon (dioxide). I wanted to meld this fact with the scientific idea of carbon both as a fuel and something extremely valuable; i.e. the burning of coal and diamonds created under extreme pressure.
What we say can be used to fuel the fires or be seen as extremely valuable. I aimed to allow hard truths to hit home and beseech you to say 'enough is enough' to policies that are detrimental to the planet and the populace in general.

This is merely my angle, the one that I started out from and I'm much more interested in finding out how the song makes you feel and what interesting links that you come up with. Let me know below in the comments.
